New contracts signed

Suppliers of aluminium busbars, revolving fire doors, frame insulation materials and HVAC control equipment now selected

The works contracts for Länsimetro’s aluminium busbars, revolving fire doors, frame insulation materials and HVAC control equipment were signed on 5 June. The aluminium busbar joint solution will be supplied by SPL Powerlines Sverige AB. The overall contract price is MEUR 7.3. The delivery includes the busbar solution for the underground rail line power supply, which contains the aluminium busbar clad with steel along with its brackets, protective channels and cabling as ready-installed.

The revolving fire doors will be supplied by Mesvac Oy. The value of this contract is MEUR 2.2. Delivery includes approximately 50 revolving fire doors installed in situ for all stations and the underground line itself.

Sealed Air Oy was selected as the supplier of first-class structure-borne sound insulation materials, i.e. the most common insulation materials. The value of this contract is MEUR 2.2. The commercial agreement includes 90 000 square metres of insulation material, which will be installed below the underground rail to prevent the transfer of possible vibration or frame noise into the rock and thereby into the immediate environs.

YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy was awarded the HVAC control equipment contract, worth approximately MEUR 1.2. The contract includes the HVAC automation system for the stations and the entire underground line, also including the control devices and actuators, control room functions and other connected systems.

To date, 89% (i.e. almost 25 kilometres) of the Länsimetro (West Metro) tunnels has been excavated.

The tunnel excavations will end in autumn of 2013. The building contracts and equipage of the tunnels have already been initiated between Ruoholahti and Keilaniemi,” relates Matti Kokkinen, CEO of Länsimetro Oy.
