Sustainability is at the core of the metro infrastructure’s ownership and development and an integral part of day-to-day operations at Länsimetro. Measures that will steer our actions and day-to-day activities in an increasingly sustainable direction have been planned for the development areas identified in the sustainability programme. One area in need of development is energy efficiency in the real estate owned by Länsimetro. Based on feedback received from commuters, the usability of the metro stations will be developed: the metro must be easy and safe to use. All West Metro stations are accessible and, for example, tactile indicators for the visually impaired are being developed in co-operation with partners. The data management model is continuously developed to support metro infrastructure maintenance processes so that the required data is quickly and readily available. This ensures that the metro works efficiently and safely throughout its lifetime.
