The Helsinki City Rescue Department and the Länsi-Uusimaa Department for Rescue Services will carry out a joint rescue exercise at the west metro excavation site at the street address, Lauttasaarentie 50, on Monday 5 September from 1 to 3 p.m.
The purpose is to test the functioning of communications and the co-operation between the respective rescue departments, the west metro and the contractor. This is the second such exercise to be arranged at the west metro excavation site.
A simulated accident will be used to test how well the communications function and how quickly the rescue operation progresses in the underground tunnels of the west metro. The participants will include the rescue departments of Helsinki City and Länsi-Uusimaa, as well as the contractor, Kalliorakennus-Yhtiöt Oy. The exercise will last for approximately two hours.
No disturbance expected to traffic on Lauttasaarentie
The excavation site is located at the street address, Lauttasaarentie 50. If the need arises, traffic will be redirected. The public is requested to avoid unnecessary movement near the site of the exercise.
