Engineer Ulla Valtonen has been appointed as Project Manager at Länsimetro Oy. Ulla will be primarily responsible for coordinating engineering on the Matinkylä–Kivenlahti stretch of the line and the development of the electronic maintenance log system.
Ulla has previously worked as a Project Manager in charge of coordinating engineering in the West Metro project and as the Engineering Manager in charge of track and construction engineering on the Helsinki City Rail Loop while in the employ of Sweco PM Oy.
Trains will begin to operate on the first section of the new West Metro line, between Ruoholahti and Matinkylä, in August 2016. The second phase of the project, which involves building the Matinkylä–Kivenlahti section, began in the autumn of 2014. The second phase will be completed in 2020.
