Individual and recognisable stations

Common design principles make the metro line an easy-to-use entity. The individual characteristics of the stations will make each station unique: a single glance will be sufficient to inform passengers arriving at a station of their location.

Special consideration paid to station safety
Automatic train operation is the starting point for station design. The platforms will be 90 metres in length, spacious and unbroken, with tracks located on both sides. The stations of the west metro will be fitted with platform screen doors, increasing passenger safety in the platform area.

Special consideration will be given to the lighting of the stations. Natural light will be exploited where possible; lighting solutions will aim to promote accessibility and prevent glare. There will be no separate ceiling designs; ceilings will be shotcreted. All stations will be accessible and each level will be easy to reach. All functions will be designed to be as easy-to-use and logical as possible.

Metro stations as meeting places
A metro station changes its surroundings and creates new opportunities. The surroundings of each station will be developed towards uniform and easily accessible zones. The stations will be designed to have a tight connection to the local environment and its construction, services and traffic connections. The individual starting points and needs of each area will be taken into consideration in the design of the stations' surroundings.
