The Urheilupuisto contract comprises an open excavation about 70 m by 200 m in size, with an average depth of 8 m. In all, about 110,000 cu.m of earth will be removed. The contract also includes the excavation of about 2,000 cu.m of rock at the entrance to the access tunnel. The contract is being undertaken by Peab Infra Oy. Inspection of properties located close to the worksite and vibration attenuation of fragile equipment will be undertaken prior to the start of excavations. The inspections will be conducted by Finnrock Oy.

The contract will begin with the setting up of the worksite in early May and will be completed at the end of the year, after which work on excavating the access tunnel and metro tunnels will begin immediately.

07.00-18.00 daily
Work may also be done between 18.00 and 22.00, but subject to a noise level limit of 40 dB
On weekends and mid-week holidays, the noise level limit is 35 dB
