Excavation under the sea from Ruoholahti to Lauttasaari
The excavation contract executed through the Ruoholahti access tunnel consists of two 400-metre metro tunnels under the sea (Lauttasaarensalmi). The contractor is YIT Construction Ltd. Previously, two 800-metre rail tunnels and an access tunnel have been excavated between Ruoholahti metro station and the sea shore at Salmisaari, a total length of 1,900 m of tunnel.

The worksite base for this contract is located under the Länsiväylä motorway bridge beside the Holiday Inn hotel, address: Salmisaarenkatu 7. Traffic has been temporarily rerouted near the working site area.
