The Niittykumpu contract encompasses the excavation of a work tunnel, a station, two metrotunnels and Matinsolmu and Tontunmäki accessways. The worksite areas will be fenced off carefully.
The contract is being undertaken by YIT Rakennus Oy. The inspection of properties located close to the tunnels and the station, and the vibration attenuation of fragile equipment undertaken prior to the start of excavations. Inspections and the attenuation of equipment sensitive to vibration are conducted by Oy Finnrock Ab.

Earth excavation and removal 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (Mon-Fri)
Open excavation 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (Mon-Fri)
Boring from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.; possibly until 10 p.m. and at weekends if noise level measurements show that guideline values are not exceeded
Blasting in tunnel 7 a.m.-10 p.m. (Mon-Fri)
Blasted rock loading and transport 24 h (Mon-Sun). Blasted rock will be hauled to Jätkäsaari.
